# EES DAO The EES protocol is meant to be community-owned and community governed through a DAO. All protocol earnings will go to the DAO and be split between protocol R\&D, funding projects building on EES and rewarding the community members of the DAO. R\&D mostly consists of designing and implementing new modules and building periphery infrastructure and tools around the protocol.
